Optimism – Lesson Four
Thursday March 26th, 2020
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make an new ending.”
~ Maria Robinson
Do you realize that once something is done it is done? You can never make another first impression. You can never take back something bad that you said, no matter how many times you say you are sorry. But we all make mistakes and sometimes we try harder to fix them or change what we have done, especially if it was not appropriate. In other words, we can start something again. If you are doing a kata and mess up, you can start over and do it right. You can keep practicing it until you do not mess it up. Even in a competition, you can have a really good day or a really bad day. So, if you have that bad day, the next time may be better. You can make a positive ending, even if you have to have a do-over.
Ask yourself or your child:
- Are you willing to try again if you mess something up?
- Should you beat yourself up if you make a mistake? The answer is “NO.”
- Do you believe in “try, try again”? If so, you are an optimist.
